Joe, I’m a Trader

I really do feel rather like a quisling writing this, but I cannot carry the burden any longer…….I went to Sprouts.

Ok, I’ve been going to Sprouts quite a lot, I admit it.  Hey, it’s not like I’ve completely switched over or anything, I’ve just become fond of the place.   At first I went for the sake of finding more fruits and vegetables, items which TJ’s is surprisingly lacking in.   And while I cannot say I’m sold on the atmosphere, there are some goods to be noted.

I do hope TJ’s will forgive me.

Fresh Muffins

At the front of the store when you first walk in, there is a variety of freshly baked muffins strategically situated immediately to your left.  There you can self-select the ones that most catch your eye (or nose) and place them into paper bags.  I have a growing notion that the whole design of self-selection gives the selector the feeling of control and/or power, increasing ones satisfaction in buying it.

And we thought selfies were our biggest problem. Psh.

In any case, these are delicious and worth buying…..control freaks and power-tripping aside.

Yellow Mangoes

Obviously you can buy mangoes most anywhere, but since I happened to discover these here, it is here I shall give credit.  I was actually looking for regular mangoes when I found them, and consider them to be not only better tasting, but less expensive.  I don’t know their official name, but I call them little yellow mangoes. They’re smaller, smoother, and much more flavorful.

Maple Greek Yogurt

This really is worth buying. Weekly.  It has a natural maple flavor, not at all artificial or sweet, with perfect consistency.  I’m always a little sad after it’s gone at the end of my lunch.

Olive Bar

I suppose you sort have to be an olive fan to enjoy this one, but then, who doesn’t love olives?

A lot of people, come to think of it, though I imagine that’s because they haven’t given them much of a chance . Olives tend to be an acquired taste, unless you’re a weirdo like me.  I’ve loved olives since I was small enough to stick them on the end of each of my little fingers.  Not that this means a whole lot, I liked black coffee and whisky the first time I tried those too.

Go figure.

Anyhow, this bar has a great variety to choose from. A little on the expensive side, but the little rascals are worth the price you pay for them.

Most especially if you stick them on the end of your fingers before you eat them.
